Wisconsin Gov Suggests Parents Skip Christmas to Give Money to Campaign

Republican Governor Scott Walker sent an email to supporters last week asking for donations to his campaign. Nothing unusual about that. It was his suggestion of where his supporters might find the money to donate that is turning heads. Walker says to skip getting presents for the kids and give the money instead to him:

Instead of electronics or toys that will undoubtedly be outdated, broken, or lost by the next Holiday Season, help give your children a gift of a Wisconsin that we can all be proud of….

The email was sent under the premise that supporters would only waste money on Black Friday and should instead “stay in and give your children a gift that will keep on giving”.

Imagine half the kids in Wisconsin waking up on Christmas morning to a note in their stocking that says “Santa says Merry Christmas and vote for Scott Walker”. Sheesh.

Talk about a Christmas kill-joy.

Can’t the politicians stop running even during Christmas? The phrase “Silent Night” seems oddly appropriate when it comes to politics and Christmas.
